New, more powerful electro-spindle for machining

An 8 kW spindle to rotate an agrega, which consists of nearly 45 slots for simultaneous active milling cutters. The integration of an electro-spindle with a power like this allows to review the production dynamics of certain products that require repetitive tasks.

This project was born from a customer need in the nautical sector: to automate and optimize simultaneous drilling in technical foam, used for the manufacture of boat hulls. Faced with this challenge, we developed this project. Faced with this challenge, we developed this custom-made CNC solution in a few weeks, based on one of our machines but duplicating it. This configuration will save time on repetitive tasks. And the advantage of this configuration is also to be able to do precise work with high repeatability between the holes (an important criterion in the boating sector).

A 45-bit tool

Beyond the power of the spindle, the real asset lies in the machining head. This KMSYSTEM machining machine includes a simultaneous multi-milling tool, with *45 cutters operating simultaneously. This device makes it possible to divide the usual cycle times on this type of material. To fully exploit this CNC machining power, however, special attention must be paid to the factory infrastructure: this configuration is specifically dedicated to workshops with high power and voltage available on their network.
